Constitution

The name of the Society is MID ISLAND PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL SOCIETY. The purposes of the Society are:

1. to promote and conduct either alone or jointly with any other society, association, club, corporation, or other persons whomsoever, competitions by artists of every description in music, instrumental or vocal, elocution, dramatic arts, and dancing, and generally to promote and conduct performing arts festivals in the City of Nanaimo for the Mid-Vancouver Island area.

2. to raise money by fees, dues, subscriptions, contributions, donations, and any other legitimate manner for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the Society, and to grant bursaries, scholarships, prizes, awards, medals, certificates or other distinctions to any persons competing, in any event, promoted by the Society.

3. to engage and employ, hire and discharge such agents, service providers and workers as may be required, and to do all such acts, matters, and things which may be regarded as incidental to or for the furtherance of the objects of the Society or any of them as may be considered expedient. The operations of the Society are to be chiefly carried on in the City of Nanaimo, British Columbia.
