Our Adjudicator for 2018 is Paula Quick
Paula Quick (Honours B. Mus. Theory & Composition, M.Mus. Voice Performance & Literature) is a soprano born and educated in Ontario, Canada. Before moving to the west in 1997, she performed, recorded, coached, lectured, adjudicated and conducted primarily in eastern Canada.
Her performance activities have involved chamber work, opera, oratorio, included seven languages, and spanned five centuries. She is an avid promoter of musicianship, fitness and systematic technique among singers, and to that end has studied both Kodaly and Alexander Technique as well as organized and participated in workshops and seminars with some of the world’s most renowned performers and teachers, among them, and most notably, the late Richard Miller. Her primary hobby is competitive swimming.
Since coming to British Columbia, she has resided in Chilliwack and continued to pursue her musical activities, primarily teaching, coaching and adjudicating, and has had the privilege to work with many young singers as Chilliwack representatives to the provincial music festival, PABC, and medalists in both the Royal Conservatory of Toronto and Conservatory Canada.
